So I decided today I would write a blog about the staple foods that I eat for example bread, etc and other things that I have found that really are brilliant!! and I Love.
1. BREAD
As you know bread can be hard to find, as they have seeded varieties, as I am also allergic to sesame seeds and other seeds. I have been eating this bread for about 15 years since my nut-allergy started. Hovis breads are very clear with their labeling and do other varieties of breads, such as rolls and pancakes. The pancakes are scrummy! Obviously for wheat and gluten allergy sufferers this bread is not suitable.. But their are plenty of wheat and gluten free breads in the free-from sections in most supermarkets. The bread I eat is the orange variety of Hovis, used to have beans on it! Ha which I miss. It's your simple white loaf, and it's not to fatty to eat. Here's a picture of the bread..
They are available at most leading chain stores, Morrisons, Tesco and Asda.
Allergy Advice
Contains Gluten. Contains Wheat. Contains Soya\Soybeans.
It does contain E471 and E472 as a child i was told to avoid such e-numbers but i have not had a problem eating this bread, as the labeling should state whether it includes any nut derivatives.
2. CAKES
Not really a staple but you gotta love a good cake, I generally make my own, in the future I will put up recipes on how to make my biscuits , raspberry ice cream and little cakes. Found the best cakes ever , which the manufacturers make in a nut-free zone, which is awesome when you haven't got time to whip up a batch of cupcakes. The company is the fabulous bakin' boys, they are completley nut free and have some delicious varieties, at the moment their Halloween cakes have just been launched so cake o'clock.
Here is a link to their policy on a nut-free zone, and nut-free food products.
And this is an image of the recent Halloween cakes that they have brought out.
Hope you enjoy eating them they are available at Asda or they can be ordered online.
3. CHOCOLATE
Chocolate is the hardest of all things to get with a nut-allergy as most chocolate manufacturers make nutty-chocolates boooooooooo! So most of the popular chocolate are off limits. But it is nice to know that there are people (chocolate manufacturers) that are looking out for us NUT-ALLERGY sufferers. Kinnerton make children's chocolate, On the front they have children's characters but they are awesome. They make chocolate bars, chocolate lollipops and also Easter eggs and advent calenders. Which for people who love Christmas and Easter is awesome as they stock them in most shops and can be brought for you by friends or family just look out for the Kinnerton logo, they have a special line created to avoid and nuts/peanuts getting in and devote themselves on nut-free chocolate. Kinnerton also supply chocolate for people with Gluten, Dairy, Nut and Egg allergies in their chocolate bar which is available from most supermarkets in the free-from section.
Here's a link to their information on their nut-free safety promise.

And an image of their regular nut-free chocolate bars. Which at the moment are 17p each in Asda.
4. FROZEN GOODS.
Personally most frozen goods for example pizza's and curries have the label "may contain traces of nuts". But I have discovered BIRDS EYE! They are brilliant with labeling their food and i haven't branched much into their collection yet but I am just getting back into eating manufactured food again, as i used to eat only freshly made stuff, but being at university it's timely to make everything from scratch everyday! My favourite at the moment is BIRDS EYE: chicken burgers. They are brilliant for when over the summer it was Barbecue season, or recently I have been having them on a salad. Low calorie and also really tasty.

5. CRISPS.
I have found most crisp places to also manufacturer nuts, but as labeling is concerned most use different factories for their nuts. The best crisp manufacturer that i have found is Walkers, they have many different flavours most using sunflower oil to cook them and most do no have any nuts in them. Wotsits are a particular favourite of mine. Squares, Quavers, Doritos, Monster Munch, Plain crisps, Chipsticks and others are available to eat and all nut-free.
6. SOUPS
Okay so most soups do contain sweetcorn as I discussed yesterday in my blog, but some are nut-free and sweetcorn free. I tend to stick with Heinz, their cream of tomatoe and cream of chicken soups are absolutley find for nut-allergy sufferers to eat and they are scrummy!
Ingredients

Hope you enjoyed my rundown of my staples in my diet and how you can have a healthy balanced diet , not including nuts. This took me so long to do , that I am gonna split the staples into 2 sections so i can do another one next week sometime! Look forward to your feedback and hopefully this will help recent nut-allergy sufferers to eat everything that they want.
